Update on works in Oostenburgermiddenstraat

On the 6th of October, we sent residents of Oostenburg a letter explaining that we had been unable to complete the street improvements in Oostenburgermiddenstraat, between Jacob Bontiusplaats and Willem Theunisse Blokstraat, as planned. During the works, we discovered electricity cables. Unfortunately, we do not yet know when we will be able to resume the works. To minimise disruption, we will temporarily make the carriageway suitable for traffic in both directions by laying a temporary surface. As soon as we know when the works can resume, we will inform you. To avoid further delays, we will soon begin work on the final section of Oostenburgermiddenstraat, between Willem Theunisse Blokstraat and Van Reedestraat. This update explains what the works involve and the planned schedule.

What work will be carried out?

We will be working in Oostenburgermiddenstraat, between Willem Theunisse Blokstraat and Van Reedestraat. We understand that the works may cause some disruption, and we will do our best to keep this to a minimum. Unlike our earlier announcements, the works will now be carried out in a single phase. During the works, Oostenburgermiddenstraat and the surrounding streets will remain accessible via a diversion.

The maps at the end of this update show the work area and the diversion route.
